We got good heavy rain overnight .. Don't know how much the gauge is upside down .. But there was water still standing in low spots this evening.

Scott is the sign getting "blue" paint?

I might have thought I got more if my gauge had been upside down, but since it wasn't . . . it got about .11" in it.

Negative. We're keeping it natural. Hoping it takes on some nice rust and natural patina.

I'm betting all those C clamps in the background have something to do with it. and a steamer oven maybe?

Ok, apparently I didn't see the last page when I posted this morning. My dad and cousin go out and cut the trees and bring em in. We have a band saw kinda similar to one Brandi was commenting about while back. The log is sliced in veneers about 1/8" thick which is placed in a stainless cooking pot. Heated then when limber enough it's bent. Then allowed to dry and run thru a glue machine. From there it can be sliced out on a modified radial arm saw to width. Then shaping, sanding, and finishing.

I can build stirrups but can't really build anything else. Fence maybe. I see y'all's metal art or any kind of construction and I'm intrigued.

Robby, what you do is an art form, seems like it would be easier to just get a "wood-bender", like we use with metal:D
