Not just yet but you're getting closer and closer

Buppies; I am ever so grateful for the info that you share! However, with the current cold front here, and the temp going down to 15 tonight, the thought of "shooting the messenger" does come to mind!

It was in the 70s when I got home from bar-b-q, beer and dancing yesterday, and it was 26* when I got up this morning! It looks like the high for the day was at midnight, or shortly thereafter. I heard the front blow in fully at 0100. Please let this be winter's last stand!

That would be nice! It's 29 up here and the ground, which was completely clear yesterday, is now turning white again.
At least they have revised the model down to 4-7 inches of snow from 6-10 inches predicted for today, yesterday.

How is this cold weather down there effecting some of the early garden plantings of the past 2 weeks.
Any onions popping up yet?

Ron, what your seeing is mold!! get out the bleach and sprayer!:D I used onion sets, so they are out of the ground around 4"-6" now, my Broccoli is around 6", so yesterday I hill'ed some dirt around them. Might work, might not.

Dry and 26* here right now Windy though, windchill down to 15*!!

So far, my onions and garlic are very happy! I watered them yesterday. Chance of frozen precip today, but I never count on it, and didn't want to be out trying to water them during this cold spell. Temps getting to 15* or below might have the onions getting puny though. Time will tell!

I think our onions will be fine since the ground has been warmed some, I will probably have to replant the Broccoli, if I even fool with it again. Potatoes haven't broke the ground yet, so those "should" be fine. Up until I watched the news last night, they where aying the front would get here around noonish:confused3:

Please don't shoot me been sliced on enough recently. One more storm on horizon for east coast that is on the board now. Haven't looked at Texas though but any long lasting warm ups yet. We are supposed to get up to eight inches tomorrow north of here maybe 16in or more

FG, looking at the radar, you will get "frigid" before Jim, Bird and I:biggrin:

22 with 20 mph winds and a light glazing of ice .. Just enough to make u walk with caution so one doesn't fall on the behind .. It's simply miserable outside!!

I'm already a "frigid biotch" today! And I am sick of winter!!!! :grumpy:

I hear it's warmer once you get above 6000' Now you just have to get there

What I am playing in now doesn't have any anti-icing capabilities, so it's a no go for me today! :hissyfit: :censored:

It's very cold outside, but I'm sitting in front of a roaring fire and feel pretty snug. I got up first this morning and started a big fire. It's doing quite well with plenty of glowing embers. I also fixed some scrambled eggs with Tabasco sprinkled on top to warm me inside.:licking: I hate this late cold snap, but in a few days, it'll be history. I sure wish we got some moisture with it, but it would be frozen, so I can wait awhile, I guess. Like Farmgirl, I'm ready for spring weather. I got my garden tilled, but nothing planted yet. There's plenty of time left for my reduced-size garden this year.

22 degrees, north wind at 16 mph, gusting to 23, and the precipitation is rapidly turning roofs, and my patio deck, white.

Wow! Bird, no precip here, just very cold (18 F) and windy. I suspect we'll see some sleet and "other" as the day moves on, but at this low temp, I don't think we'll see any collection on the trees or power lines.

Bird,
Dennis says that white stuff is just mold.
Not sure if I'd trust him to paint yellow stripes along my driveway from that statement.
Maybe he has the Vinney Van Gogh gene:confused2:

Right. At the moment, the NWS says "light freezing rain" so I guess that's right. What I'm getting is tiny ice particles; too small to call sleet. And it's really coming down right now, although so far it's only about a quarter inch deep in my rain gauge.

Not bad.. 39 more quarters of snow and you will have an inch of rain.
We have about 2" of snow so far today. The prediction of 6-10 might be a little exaggerated, I hope, since it is supposed to go below zero tomorrow.
