Maybe they need to enact legislation for 18 wheelers to get off the roads in icy weather? No one can stop 80,000 lbs on ice quickly. Use those amber warning signs on the interstates, etc.

When the amber lights come on. Nobody should be on the road. Cars cannot stop either.

Agreed, but they don't bring 80,000 lbs along with them to slam into the back of stopped vehicles.

I wonder if there was any signage that warned of the elevated road way ahead like you see for bridges and overpasses. "Warning, bridges and overpasses freeze before Roadway" or something like that. Definitely need to get some a mile before and get a temperature activated flashing light on it.

Exactly. That Fed Ex truck looked like it was going way too fast for the existing weather conditions. Color me hunkered down for the next week.

I'm looking forward to sawing logs in the snow. Rain............not so much. I have found I can work on projects in the barn when it is above 40 degrees. So no barn time either, for a few days.
