Dam, that is a steep dam backside. Looks to be 2 to 1 slope. Bet you had a lot of erosion before the grass took hold.

Those slick spot makers sure look peaceful. Do they make a lot of noise?
hugs, Brandi

Not much erosion. It took two days to build and compact with a small dozer for 12 feet deep water, 20 years ago.. The clay up here makes the fancy stuff you buy in a bag down there seem like baby powder.
Those geese are migrating. They stop here and other ponds on the way for a couple days to rest. They are really quite tame or very tired.
I can walk down or drive the tractor and they might paddle across the water but they don't take off. They do leave a mess. Not much noise while they are on the ground. Flying in a big V formation you can hear and see them coming from quite a distance.
If the dog tries to scare them off they just rear up, flap their wings a couple times and stare at him until he lays down and just watches.
They are quite large and interesting to watch.

Lou ... I was all straight on this name deal and them you throw this in .. Now I'm wondering if squirrels use there tails to pick their nose

I heard Louisiana has a new hunting law .. Stating January 2014 residents can only harvest male squirrels

Lou, I used a 3/4" break-over bar and 3' pipe cheater to break my blade bolts loose. That's been several years ago and I think the price of a big honkin' impact driver would be worth the money if I ever have to do it again.

Weather Report: It got down to 19 F here last night. We were expecting low 20s. This morning the grass has such a frost that it looks like snow covered ground. Gotta be careful walking down outside steps too.
