terramite t5 diesel conversion

hello there,
I am new to all this forum stuff but I have a question. I have a 1996 terramite t5 that had a tired kohler 18 horsepower motor in it. I found a great deal on a Kubota z482 twin cylinder diesel out of a generator. I have it all installed in backhoe fired it up and the one thing I didn't think about till the evening before happened the motor spins wrong way for the hydraulic pump. So I am looking for a pump that came out of a diesel terramite t7 or t9 or some other cheap way around this problem.

Welcome to the forum!

My T-5C has factory Honda power that runs 'backwards' by using a std flywheel take-off version. (the output shaft spins unused up front.)

The T-5 hydrostatic drive needs to be accommodated and you may not have a reverse-rotation option there. (The gear pump is at the opposite end of it from the motor, but otherwise may not have to be a big thing.)

Thanks for the reply. I have come to conclusion to turn motor aroind and run off the front side of the crank. I dont think that will hurt anything.

If you have a 3-hole flange on the front of the crankshaft (see link) you should be able to adapt that to your drive coupling.

IMO this would be a good choice of engine for a T-5 if it will clear the hood/tank. If not, I'm sure there's a workaround ...

The other problem that you will find is that the generator engine has the wrong governor. The generator will have a constant speed governor.
