The 51759 is a hydraulic filter. From the Wix website- click on the part number for specs. That's the same one I have on my T6.

Its kinda strange....but I spoke to someone who sells parts for terramites, and they told me that you do not want to use a hydraulic filter for the hydraulic system on the terramite, because the systems doesnt use hydraulic oil, it uses motor oil, therefore you need to use a oil filter for the hydraulic system.

My machine currently has a BALDWIN BT111 filter on the hydraulic system...and it is a large spin on filter...2x as long as a normal oil filter. I went to local auto parts store and told them the part numbers for the wix/napa filters and they did not have them in stock...but they told me those 2 part numbers cross over to a STP S3387A oil filter....

I boUght the STP oil filter and will see if it fits today.

That STP number crosses over to a Wix 51040 (on the Wix website). It has a 18 x 1.5 mm thread where the BT111 has a 3/4-16 thread. At least that's what I found. Go here and enter the part numbers and you can get the specs on each one.

I looked in my T6 parts manual and it calls for a NAPA 1759 (Wix 51759) Which Wix calls a transmission/hydraulic filter. I would be concerned about flow rate using an engine filter since an engine oil pump has nowhere near the GPM of a hydraulic pump.

You are correct..the STP did not screw on.....So I still have to find a proper replacement for the BALDWIN BT111 on it now...or just hope the BT111 is the proper filter and buy another one.

My metal screen for the hydraulic fluid was still in tact and screwed into the outlet of the hydraulic tank. The screen was full of plastic/nylon pieces from all the piston seals that inside the hydraulic cylinders that had come apart into tiny pieces.

Does the hydrostat transmission have a completely separate hydraulic filter or does it just rely on the filtering done by the metal screen in the bottom of the hydraulic tank and the screw on replaceable hydraulic filter under the seat area ?

Yes, but im not sure the newer terramites use the same hydraulic systems as these ones from the 1970s that have a Vickers pump.

Local auto parts store says a FRAM PH47 should be a correct crossover...he doesnt have the wix/napa brands in stock.

Your filter is a lot smaller than mine. The PH47 would be a crossover for my Wix 51759 with 1 1/2-16 thread. The crossover for the Baldwin BT111 is Fram PH8A with3/4-16 thread. Got this off the Fram website.

Does this canister that is attached to the hydro pump have some type of screen filter inside it that needs to be periodically cleaned/replaced ?

It looks like there is about 6-8 bolts on the front side of it that hold the housing to the face of the transmission ? . filter.jpg
