TEMPERATURE SENSOR OR GAUGE ?

FarmPro 2430 (Jinma 304) TY395 Engine
Dash Gauge reads 100 at all times
Is this a sensor or gauge failure ?
Tractor doesn't run hot, but I want to fix
Also, is there a aftermarket thermostat available ?

Is the gauge stuck on 100 all the time, even when the tractor is shut off?
if so then it would be the gauge.

Yes but it's not a direct fit NAPA 133 , you have to turn the edges down some see this pic. Best bet is to replace with the OEM

Yes, gauge is on 100 (Left Side) all the time, running or not, or parked, never moves

Reason l was asking about thermostat, l am sure this Jinma needs a major cooling clean out
Never runs hot, but l don't think it circulates to full potential, anti-freeze in radiator looks OK, but coolant inside engine at thermostat housing looks pretty cruddy

I installed a coolant filter. System is squeaky clean. Also running a furnace air filter in front of the radiator. Also running the NAPA thermostat. I also have the TY395 engine.

Is your coolant filter system installed on a radiator hose or other application ?
Is furnace type air filter suggested if tractor never gets in weeds or brush ?
Tractor has OEM screen in front of radiator, & it's clean

I installed the coolant filter in the thermostat by-pass line. I guess if you never get in any dry brush or lots or heavy dust then the furnace filter is probably not necessary. The rust, scale, and casting sand trapped by the coolant filter greatly improves cooling system efficiency and prolongs coolant pump seal life. To prove my point, weigh the new filter element before you install it, then weigh it again after 30 or so hours of running. You'll be amazed. I had to change mine about every 50 hours at first because it was getting full (cool to the touch).

Something else I did was to replace the OEM gauges with Murphy Switch Gages that were connected to an audible alarm. I did this because I couldn't keep an eye on the gauges when operating the back hoe.

Well, I figured out my gauge is shot, The coil inside is broken & the tiny wire is uncoiled
(Wonder how that happened)

My neighbor gave me a new SunPro 12v Gauge that is mechanical & the sensor fits in block ok,
Not quite as long as original.
No electrics needed except light if wanted
The original gauge had 2 red wires for 12v & 1 orange wire for the sensor
Since this sensor has a spring encased tube to the gauge , no wiring is required is it ?

It has a capillary tube connected to a bulb that is immersed in the coolant. The bulb and tube are filled with glycerin and it expands and contracts proportionally to the coolant temperature. The only electrical connection required is for the lamp. The spring protects the capillary tube.

OK,
Installed mechanical SunPro gauge & sensor
Let engine run for 20 minutes at medium rpm, needle never moved (100 degees)
Warm engine, not hot, removed radiator cap with very little coolant loss
Thermostat..?

Thermostat is stuck open or you don't have the doughnut seal on top of it.

I put a piece of radiator hose on thermostat and got warmer, gauge reads 180
BUT, Sun Pro gauge must be interior only as a little rain caused condensation & glass fogged up

Yup. They aren't Stewart Warner or Murphy.
