temp gauge`

I wanted to thank everyone for the great information. This is a great forum.
I have a 2210 with an idiot light for high temp which makes me a lot uncomfortable when seeing it come on.
Is there an easy way to add an actual guage that reads numbers instead of the idiot light.

Several have added the SunPro gauges (temp) available at most auto parts stores. Kit usually includes necessary metric adapters and detailed instructions. Pretty straight forward conversion.

It seems they don't offer anything smaller than the 2" gauge anymore though. At least from what I can find.

I preferred the 1½" gauge myself.

Bought several sets of 1-1/2" triples on ebay recently, and saw others. Worth a look.

iv'e got a 2210 and i put a 1 1/2 sun pro on it. just bolt it to the plate in front of the gear shift. also make sure that you keep the radiator blown out.[the fins] that fan sucks a lot of air. I have fowned that if you don't run it above 1500 rpm it stays cool,and there is plenty of power.

If you have to stay below 1500 rpm to stay cool, you have an overheating problem. 2200 rpm is normal for 540 rpm pto speed.

Santa brought me a set of 1 1/2" gauges last month for my tractor. They came from Auto Zone. I have seen similar ones at at some wally marts.

I guess what I meant to say was........Sunpro used to have the 1½" gauges on their website. They always had them on clearance too. Now, they may be still available. Just not on their site. I know other brands are available in the same size as well.

Perhaps he meant that it stays (too) cool under 1500 rpm.. and that you would have to run it over 1500 rpm to get it up to proper temp? ??

I am not sure how to transfer posts, but if you go to:
search / yanmar forum / type in gauges / list all / submit
you will bring up a list of posts on this topic. I have one there that is listed as 1700 front weight / gauges. There is a picture there that shows the 1-1/2" triple Sunpro's that I installed on my 1700. I got them from autozone and had to buy a metric adapter kit to install them. That was the first thing I did after I purchased the tractor. I do not trust idiot lights!
