Thanks, I wasn't sure and no doubt the oil will have to be caught in a container , maybe cut the side out of an oil bottle but not much room there. Lucky because i could have damaged something just screwing it.
You wouldn't know the cartridge number would you?
If not i have to take it off and bring it back in to town to match it .
Does the strainer have an o ring on the suction tube ? I didn't look up there , just stuck small rag into hole with finger.
I pulled it off and have it and the filter cover which i need a ring for, but after coming home i thought it must have one smaller ring on the tube to seal the top of the strainer into the tube.

I got a picture of the suction filter and it does have an oring on top.
I rang Komatsu they can order them but it will take a while and cost a heap .
Does it sound ok to just match them from a bearing services ?
Or does someone know the sizes ?

You’re right - not much room. Taking battery out helps. I don’t know size of o-ring. Don’t see why a match would not work for the same pressure and oil use ??

Feeling a bit better so i at least wanted to pull strainer. It confirmed to me anyway i'll have to do the pads. lots of junk and fine steel wires, bits of the pads i think, and probably why the pressure dropped, I could not get the filter off. Looks to me like a screw in outer with drop in filter and the bolt on bottom is just a drain . Is this right ? . I went into town and bought a tool to unscrew it.

when you get to your brake job you may want to find Salam Sayhood on youtube. Go to a list of his videos - he has a ton of them - go back three years in the list and find TD7C bulldozer brake & clutch job. It is excellent on reassembly. Also find Repair Bulldozer Brake and Clutch where he does the initial internal inspection and removes all the parts.

Thanks i found the one re fitting everything but have nit seen the inspection one. You don't know the thickness of the pads do you?
There looks to be heaps of adjustment , might go for 10mm from looking at pictures if i can't get a size.

I Am not near my shop manuals today. Tomorrow I will have a look and let you know what I find about the pads.

My service and parts manuals do not say anything about the pad thickness. Only disassembly and assembly instructions. Komatsu still lists the parts with a link to 777parts.org/amazon for an aftermarket replacement part, but no specs there either just pictures. Maybe you can find some specs ???

Fleetguard HF- 6151 is the hydraulic oil filter number. On my machine , not sure about other models . HD8g , in australia if that makes any difference.
