I made a tentative deal on a 2003? TC45DA with supersteer and a 270TL loader. I know this loader was original equipment on the larger TC55 and I'm curious if the 45 will have the hydraulics to run the loader at an acceptable speed. I test drove the machine when it was about 1 degree outside and the loader seemed quite slow. I chalked it up to cold hydraulic fluid, but after finding out that the TC45 was meant to come with the 260 loader I'm wondering how much of an effect the smaller pump on the TC45, 9.8gpm vs the 11.6 gpm on the TC55, will have on the operation of the larger loader. Does the 270 have larger hydraulic cylinders than the 260 or just a higher breakout limit? Another issue with the machine was that the tachometer was off by about 1000 rpm. Is there an easy adjustment/calibration to bring this back into spec? I've done a ton of digging and searching, but I can't seem to find an answer to these questions.

Thanks for any assistance!
Paul

I'm sure it will handle it ... Only difference with the lower GPM should be speed, so it might operate slower since the cylinders are bigger than what was on the smaller loader.

Only other thing to consider would be the front axle. The loader that came on the 45 was rated for 500 less lbs at full height, and nearly 1500 lbs less breakout force, plus the loader itself is heavier and more substantial ... So just be careful not to load it too heavy, especially while turning.

That's a guess though ... The front axle might be strong enough that it wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the info TSO, it is greatly appreciated. They delivered the tractor a few days ago and I got to run it around a bit in the the balmy 20 something degree weather and the loader was much faster operating so my concerns with its operation seem to be a non-issue. I will keep an eye on the the axle for sure, being the first super steer tractor I've ever operated it will be a learning experience in itself, but so far I'm a big fan of the turning radius. I do however have some tach calibration research to do yet. With the key on and the tractor off I'm seeing 1000ish RPM. Does anyone know of an easy adjustment to bring my zero back to actual zero on this tractor? It seems to sweep through its range just fine only reading the 1000 rpms too high the entire span of the tach.
