TC40DA 4WD Not Working

Hi, I am a new member but not new to the site. I have searched your discussions many times in search of advice and I often find that someone else has experienced the same problems. I recently had my 4WD stop working on my 2005 TC40DA but couldn't find the answer, perhapse I didn't look hard enough. I did discover the source of the problem so I decided to return the favor and post my findings. So I finally took the time to register. Anyway my problem turned out to be where the drive shaft connects to the spline on the front of the tractor. The shaft is connected by a female coupling. The splines on the front part of the coupling were rounded off. This prevented the drive shaft from turning the front tires. 36$ dollar part from New Holland and I was back on the road. Anyway hope this helps someone else and thanks for all the good advice I have gotten from you guys over the years.

Thanks for the post. TBN is my source for TC40DA info too. It would be great if you could share this information in the New Holland forum, since not everyone reads the new member info. It would also be nice to hear more about hours on the tractor and what might have caused the part failure.
