Good morning from Iowa

I have a '05 TC40D and wanted to add a rear light for moving snow this winter.

I've located the quick connect wire behind the seat to the right, but when I test it, there's
no power there. I checked the fuses, esp. the turn signal fuse which is on supposedly the
same circuit according to the manual.

Here I thought this was going to be a simply install, but I literally pulled my hair out
yesterday trying to figure out the problem. I even removed the left hand cover/cowl below the steering
wheel looking for the obvious, to no avail.

Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? I tried the switch in ACC and even started the tractor
up to see if I had any current, but got nothing.

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff,
I've never used the aux. power plug on the back of my '03 33D but did a quick power check. It has power when the key is rotated and stays on while the tractor is running. The schematic in the manual indicates a switch but there is none. Operating the light switch has no effect on it.
Maybe you have a short in the line somewhere?

Larry,

Yes I'm afraid a short is probably my answer, all though hoping it was just a wire / relay I needed to connect
below the fuse panel. The light shown in my schematic has a switch located on the light itself.
Thanks for the Reply

I've had a work light plugged in for years ('05 model TC40DA) that has a switch built in the plug. I got the plug at RS and just used a 12v work light. I suspect you have broken wire or short. But first, I'd make sure the contacts inside the plug are clean and that you have a good ground.
