TC35D RECALL

I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY TC35D. IT SAYS THE HYDROSTATIC TRANSMISSION MAY SLIP OUT OF GEAR WHEN IN LOW RANGE AND GOING DOWN A HILL. THEY HAVE A REPAIR THAT MUST BE MADE BY 8/31/01 AND I MUST TAKE TRACTOR INTO DEALER IF I DO NOT WANT TO PAY THE DEALER TO COME TO MY FARM. HAS ANYONE RECEIVED THIS LETTER AND HAVE YOU HAD THE REPAIR DONE?

Do these recalls apply to new tractors or are they 6 mo or older? I am concerned because I just recently took delivery of my TC35D of which I have less than 15 hrs on. Thank you.

I wouldn't worry about it. By now all the people who needed the tranny update should have been notified. If you haven't gotten a mailing by now from NH you probably won't be getting one. My guess is that unless yours sat on a dealer lot for a number of months, it is not in the group affected. You shouldn't have to pay to have anything done. I actually contacted three dealerships in my area before getting mine done & all offered pick up & delivery at no charge for this campaign. NH is giving some allowance to the dealerships to pick up & deliver so don't be afraid to ask if they don't offer. Besides all of the dealerships I spoke with were more than helpful. I ended up going back to the dealer where I bought my tractor & that ended up being a great decision from what I can tell. Remember it is to the dealers advantage to keep you happy - you have many years ahead to buy parts, services & more new tractors. I don't know about you, but my money will always go where I am treated & serviced well. If you want the whole long saga see the posting "TC45D Recall"
