TC35d or TC35da?

I own a 2001 TC35d. It has been an excellent tractor but I am thinking of trading up to a newer one. Can anyone tell me if there are any notable differences between mine and a brand new one?

I don't like the new headlight design either, however, if getting a new tractor meant the new headlights I would do it in a heartbeat.

Wow! Nothing wrong with that old tractor? I bet your dealer loves you! I could see going to a TC40DA or TC45DA and maybe add a cab, but I'm surprised you would stick with the same model for only a newer model.

Okay...nuff said about my opinion. You didn't ask that, but only asked about notable differences.

1. Battery box improved
2. Instrument panel updated/changed
3. HST pedal return spring strengthened
4. Headlights...don't get me started.
5. New loaders
6. Very expensive remote hydraulic valves (To be fair, this is the same on all tractors in the last few years.)
7. Grey seat instead of black one
8. New fender and hand-hold design
9. Improved joystick (stronger)

I'll probably think of more things, but these are the ones that come to mind quickly.

Didn't those new loaders include a significant upgrade in lift capacity? I know the Class II's were upped when they went to the "LA" style loader with teh curved boom.

Although you may not want to here this I would have to agree with jinman. Why not get an Air Conditioned Cab & have the tractor re-painted so it looks like new. Now were talking a different machine. While your at it add a BH & your talking ALOT different machine. The only big plus you will get from a new 35DA is the quick attach loader.

From the two specs I compared, (D vs. DA) lift capacity has changed 0 lbs. Unfortunately, in my manual, I do not have the lift capacity at 39" height & 19.7" forward of the pins. Even all the other specs such as max lift height & raise / lower, dump speeds are all identical.

Keep your old tractor and with the money you saved not "upgrading" you could buy more attachments . Jay

I agree with the others on here. I would keep the tractor and either get implements, and or, maybe even put a cab on it. Unless you have a real high amount of hours I don't think you will gain a lot.

John, the Class IIIs have had the curved-arm loaders from the beginning and the specs for the new loader are almost identical as Vic noted. The main difference on the new loaders is some hydraulic line routing and the quick-attach buckets that were not available in 2001. My tractor is a 2001, and I had to add QA to the loader later.

The loaders for the Class IV TC55 and TC48 are slightly different in the way they attach to the tractor, but I don't believe there is a difference for the Class IIIs.
