Can anyone compare the advantages and disadvantages of the NH TC33DA (or TC29DA) with the Kubota B3030? I want a tractor that works well for mowing but also has enough power to do some trail building and logging with a FEL and some brush hogging and some tilling from time to time. I am attracted to small size for practicality and maneuverability but don't want to end up with just a mower that is a toy tractor. I could use some help. Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I spent the last year shopping for tractors and at one time narrowed it down to the B3030 or the NH 33DA. Both are very nice machines and have a lot in common. The B3030 has a 4 cylinders (much smoother), the nh has a 3. Both have a the same features like telescopic hitches, tilt steering, etc. I was partial to the B3030. Then I drove an L3130 and liked it better. 3 days ago I bought a slightly used 2003 NH35D that I could'nt pass up.

topshop, I can only speak for the TC33DA HST, I have had it 10 days and have put 17 hours on it. I have finish mowed my 4 acer yard twice with my 6' finish mower, not a mark one on my yard with the R4 filled tires. I have bush hogged my 8+ acer field {thick weeds and about waste high} with my RZ60 bush hog 5'. And moved 23 tons of crush run gravel with my 14LA FEL and spead it on my drive way with my rear blade and I can say the TC33DA HST has made short work of all of it. Not too big but has lots of power. This is one great little machine. No toy tractor here! I do recommend the quick detatch bucket, best money I have spent yet! Good Luck!

Do you have sufficient maneuverability with the 6-foot mower to mow around and up close to things? It's 3-point-hitch mower, not mmm, right? And how easy is the FEL to take off and put on?

Yes, It's a rear mount, 3 pt hitch mower. This machine turns easier and sharper than my garden tractors with it's power steering. It's FEL can be removed easily. I have the quick detatch bucket, so I just drop the bucket while mowing. Visability is GREAT!

I just went through the same problem - kubota 3030 vs, NHTC33DA. I ended up with the Nh and so far have been very happy with it. I like the extra weight on the NH, especially when bushhogging. Even the kubota dealer told me I would need to leave the FEL on when I bushhogged. I also feel the extra power of the Nh helps with my 5' rotary cutter. I was lucky and found a 33da w/ super steer at a good price and it sure makes getting arond tight places a breeze. Over all I spent about $1500 more than I could have bought the kubota with the same equipment but I feel it was worth it. Just seems to me to be the right size, weight and price for what I needed. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

IMO, the TC's are a bit larger than the B3030... a bit more expensive as well. They compare more with the L-series line.

Great photos and a very happy owner. I feel the TC33DA is the right compromise for me--mowing, maneuverability yet enough power and weigt to do some serious work with the FEL and brush hog. I just wish Kubota made an equivalent--their GL series is great yet bulkier than I want. And when you go to the B3030, it's lighter and less capable that I want.
