I am wanting to trade up to a 40D, any ideas what a (2001) TC33D with Loader with 90 hours in great condition would be on Trade In?
How about retail?

Are there any incentives from NH right now?

Thanks,

Eric

Eric, Just curious is it really worth the financial hit you will take to trade up? You are only going up 7 HP.

Banjobi -

He may only be going up 7 HP, but it's a larger frame as well (weighs about 800-900# more) and larger tires... much better traction, which is often the limiting factor for a compact tractor.

My guess (for what it's worth) is that you will loose about 10% retail and about 20% wholesale. As a trade-in, probably somewhere in between. Good luck!

Re: TC33D Trade Value-Varies Regional Widely!

Eric,

There is no correct answer/pricing to your question...

I'll ask you, what do you think a new TC40D is worth {what are you willing to pay for a fair price?} and what do you think your current TC33D is worth?

Human nature being what it is--- will dictate, you want to pay the least for the new unit... and you want to get the most for you're current equipment... Now the dealer will think the exact opposite!... /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Here's some shoe-in figures:{without attachments/loaders/etc.}
NH TC33D, Mfr. List $14,630, Avg. Lot Price $12,000
NH TC40D, Mfr. List $20,320, Avg. Lot Price $16,660

For example, you bought the 33... took it home, used it for 4 weekends, decided to trade-up for whatever reason... from the above you have an immediate $4,660 difference you will pay +++

You will take a "hit" on the loader of $500-1000...+++ another $1300-2200. more for the loader/different loader used on the 40

The dealer may also want to make another $500-1000 off your tractor trade-in... So add all those figures together to see what you will pay for a difference to step-up.../w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

The bottom line, try to market your tractor privately for maximum dollars... cash always works better than a trade-in for the best deal...

Good luck Eric.

Ag Tractors Depreciation

Compact Tractors though not as bad as automobiles still take the biggest hits in years 1-3...

Re: TC33D Trade Value-Depreciation

Thanks to everyone for the replys to my post - I was at the Farm Progress Show in Lafayette yesterday. The basic reason for getting to the next level was is:

1. the TC40 has I believe about 35 pto hp and that seems to be the minimum for a lot of implements (i.e. Baler, stump grinder, etc.)

2. the 40 is a 4cyl and would put me in a better position to scale up my farming(tillage needs)

3. the 33d is maxed by 2 btm plow.

4. Compact market is still good (According to dealers) Increased value of compact and not a lot of under 100 hr compacts on the market

5. Interest rates at low

But, even with that much (opinion) I have been persuaded to stick it out with my boomer - Maybe I can pick up a Farmall for a couple of thousand that can do the "ugly" work.

Thanks again, EC
