The fan belt on my 33d jumped the pulley when a stick got stuck behind the fan shroud. The belt got tore up a before I realized the tractor was overheating. Can I replace the belt without removing the fan/shroud? What is the best procedure to change the belt?

And the fun gets better! Was trying to loosen the alternator to get the old [temp ok until I get the new one] back on the pulleys and bolt was frozen. Finally found that the bolt took a 14mm socket and applied a little extra umph and the bolt refused to budge but the front section of the alternator cracked I guess from where the ratchet pushed against the alum shell. Anyway now I'm ordering a new alternator and a belt. Got the alternator off by going in a few inches and removed the bolt that holds the adjusting bracket to the engine block. Its a pain but got it off and finally got the problem bolt loose by putting the whole thing in a shop vise. But its toast with a cracked shell. Guessing it will be fun to reinstall the new alternator since the work access it tight.
