TC33D ELECTRICAL ISSUE

HELLO. I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY HEADLIGHTS, WITH TRACTOR RUNNING AND WHEN I TURN ON HEADLAMPS THE TRACTOR WILL SHUT OFF AFTER A FEW MOMENTS. I HAVE CHECKED FUSES, AND ALL CONNECTIONS, ALSO BATTEY. ALL IS GOOD. I HAVE NOTICED A CHERPING NOISE COMING OUT OF ALTERNATOR WHEN I FIRST START, OR WHEN I TURN ON HEADLIGHTS. WITHOUT THE LIGHTS ON THE CHERPING WILL STOP. WITH LIGHTS ON IT MAKES CHERP, I WOUNDER IF THE ALTERNATOR HAS A BAD PART. AND IF IS CAUSING A SHORT WHEN RUNNING LIGHTS, THANKS FOR THE HELP,,, BIGDAWG 1230

can;t help directly.. but can make a general comment.

On older tractors, wher ethe headlamp power was sourced off the same wireing as the ignition, sometimes you could get a situation where the laod was too much for the wire.. thus it dropped voltage and the ignition dropped out with lamps on.

your machine don't have points.. but does have a fuel shutoff solenoid i'm betting.

If you are getting a chirping noise from the alternator, it could be a loose belt. If the belt is loose, the alternator will be slipping and not rotating fast enough to put out the ampereage that is needed.

After checking the belt, check the battery cables and connections. You might be getting some voltage drop somewhere too.
