TC33d, Can i put a 40hp engine onto a 33hp

I have a 1999 new holland tc33d, engine code 58129 can i bolt a 40 hp diesel up to the 33 hp ??? Because the 30 hp block is cracked ??? Unless someone out there has a diesel engine for sale ??? Thanks bob a !!!

If you could do that, your next cracks might be in the transmission or differential or PTO. It does not make sense to put a larger HP and higher torque engine into a drivetrain designed for 33 hp. If you can get the engine to fit and detune it to produce lower hp & torque, then you might be okay.

Where is the block cracked? Any pictures? What makes you think the block is cracked?

Not sure on that model but many have the same motor in varying hp ratings. I wouldn't worry about the power increase hurting much if its an hst. The HST relief valve protects somewhat, might check to make sure the pto components are shared with the 40 hp model.

The block is cracked accross the back, going to take engine out tommorrow and check crank. the block looks like it can be welded.

If the crack doesn't extend into any oil passages, I don't see why not. Vee out the crack, warm block to around 400 degrees F. Then use Ni-rod to weld. Best done by a professional welder.

Will a N843 engine out of a skidsteer fit into a 1999 New Holland TC33D, engine# 58129, ???
