TC30 Glow Plug Light

2005 TC30

When cold I can’t get the glow plug light to come on. After the engine warms I am able to turn engine off and get light to appear when restarting. Any ideas?

TC29D, had no glow plug light, it was the relay...

Let me know if you figure this out. I've got an '01 TC30 and the glow plug light isn't reliable - sometimes bright as ever, other times so dim I have to shield it from shop lights to see it.

Dont just throw parts at a machine. The glow plug circuit isnt very complex. It does use a heavy gauge wire from the key switch and I found mine fairly burnt.

My light is also intermittent but just because the light isnt lit dosnt mean the glow plugs arnt working. Use a test light or multi meter. My bulb socket was actualy not making great contact.

On my TC30 the glow plug light almost never works, but the glow plugs always do when I turn the key backwards.

Funny thing, Glow plug light on my TC33da started acting up the other day. First checked the ignition switch. Opened it up and found no fault, regreased it with dielectric grease. Then checked the connections with the relay. I could get it to light intermittently wiggling the connector. It didn't look burnt, but I loaded it with grease and wiggled a bit and it seems to work solidly again. Time will tell, but That would be my first check.
