Had a B7500
So, here I wait on Wednesday, the dealer was supposed to deliver a new TC21D. They never came!! I also had 18 yards of topsoil being delivered before noon....THEY never came either!! Needless to say, I am not very happy, and in fact I looked at the ORANGE B7500 again, and the darn thing prices out $1400!! cheaper!! I finally make up my mind and the dealer does not follow through, maybe I will just buy the B7500 and save some bucks.

I never like the missed appointments especially if they don't give you a call and let you know in advance that they won't be coming... and awaiting a new tractor just makes your displeasure with the situation greater.

So... maybe today's the day? Or did you entertain that B7500 idea further? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

The dealer called this morning, and is delivering the unit today. It doesn't do much good since I work from 7:30 AM to 9:00PM, then have a 60 mile drive home. I am entertaining the B7500 again. I am visiting a dealer this afternoon to test the 3 point with a rear blade. If I am comfortable enough without PC, then I will buy the B7500, and have the NH dealer come get the TC21. I get very little time off, so the missed appointment, insignifiant to some, maybe will cost the sale. I don't think he will like coming back to pick up a tractor. After talking with my wife, the cost difference will allow the purchase of a roto-tiller, or something.

That's one of my (perhaps many) eccentricities. They don't show when they said, and they don't call to tell me what the emergency was, we don't do business, period, even if I have to pay more elsewhere.

All I can say if you do wind up changing your mind, is for the dealers who are reading.... take note. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

They are both fine tractors. Do keep us updated. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

70boss,

I hear your pain and frustration. However, you did a great deal of research and picked the New Holland, maybe you could get the dealer to throw in some free stuff since HE screwed up! What about a free first service with on site or pick up and delivery? Free filled tires if you want them?

Good Luck, JimBinMI

Jim,
I would not let pride stand in the way of getting the right machine. In my business, I see a lot of missed sales and opportunities slip by because of pride. I have done a lot of research, and this site has helped considerably. I like both machines and both brands. If I hadn't revisited the Kubota dealer, I would just go on and be a happy NH owner. I jut got home at 10:20PM, it is now 10:45PM or so. The dealer dropped off the TC21D, it does look good in the garage, but here is the latest beef! I figured I would run the NH around the 750 foot driveway, I get on and fire it up....nice so far....then I look at the gauges...FUEL TANK IS EMPTY!!!! So I get out a flash light to peer into the tank....THE PLASTIC BOTTOM IS DRY!!! I'm suprised the thing started at all. Not to mention the machine is a little dirty. I can live with some dirt, but an empty tank?? If the two units were the same price, I would buy the TC21. But the fact is the B7500 is $1000 cheaper. The loader is at least $400 less, and it lifts more weight ( LA302), the comparable LA272 (vs. the NH 7106) would be $600 less! I guess when I look at the big picture, position control is not worth $1400. The other thing I noticed was that the B7500 has a 4 inch longer wheelbase which will translate into a ittle better stability. I feel a little bad having the dealer come back out to pick it up, but delivering a new tractor that is plumb out of gas is a little dumb. I like the TC21, but I also have to justify the expense with the real BOSS, I'm sure you all know what I mean.

70boss,

The only thing that I don't agree with is your part about the position control, you will really miss it!

Your NH dealer is a FOOL! How in the world can he screw up on the delivery and then deliver it with an empty tank. If he did not personally have a hand in your delivery then someone at that dealership needs to be severely corrected! He just lost your sale and all of the potential sales that your bad word of mouth advertising will cost him.

Good Luck whichever way you go! JimBinMI

I let them know this morning to pick up the tractor. They tried to talk me out of it a little bit, and really didn't even offer an explanation about the empty tank at all. You are right, I may miss the position control a little, BUT, further inspection has led me to believe that the B7500 is every bit as capable and there are a few details that I uncovered which previously escaped me. The lower link adjustment is on the inside of the link on the Kubota, which is easier to adjust for me. The hydro pedal, and trans. seems smoother and easier to modulate. The B7500 has a 4 inch longer wheelbase, which should translate into a little better stability with 3 pt. mounted attachments. Did I mention the $1000 price difference? Or the $400 loader price difference, which includes a better quick release design and more capacity. The TC21D is a fine tractor, but at the moment, I can't justify the extra expense. Will I miss PC? Probably, but I'll get used to it.
