Hope I don't ruffle anyone's feathers... just an observation. As with any large group, TBN members display a large variety of personalities. It is just really interesting to me... some are the types that make you say to yourself "now that is one really nice guy/gal... the type of person you would like for a life long friend"... others make you say "wow, what a knowledgeable person... always giving great, educated advice". Then there is the one that only makes me chuckle... "the opinionated know-it-all"... they might be new posters, or they might have post counts in the thousands, but they always have an answer for every question... if the majority of responses say it is white, they say it is black... if evidence is provided for a position, it doesn't matter, they know better. As I said earlier, just an observation, but does this last type make you chuckle like it does me? Just curious.....

Yes I get a chuckle out of alot of things on here ... I like the practical joker the best. Sometimes the post is so serious and then BANG out of the blue the next response makes you spit your coffee all over!!!

I believe it 'takes all kinds', the great thing about TBN is there seems to be a pretty good mix. When one type overpowers all the others it kinda takes all the fun out of it, have seen that on other boards before.

I think I fall more into an 'educated know-it-all' category ;) I read a lot and tend to 'overshare' sometimes. :D Also if someone asks a question and I don't know the answer I go look it up :p

I disagree with your post, you are wrong.

ha ha ha

Sorry, couldn't resist. I agree 100% with your categorization, very on the money.

westbrooklawn - From what I have observed on TBN there are quite a few posters that really do have the right answer to almost ever thing asked...I sure hope your post does not cause them to hesitate to continue posting. I have sure learned a lot and want to keep learning...

I've come to rely on the advice that I get from everyone on here. I've saved thousands of dollars on projects because of TBN and the great people on here!!!!!!

If I want to start a project, or find out about something, this is where I go to post a question.

Thank you everyone,
Eddie

I really think that this is the best rural lifestyle / tractor / homeowner site on the net. One thing is the mods don't let politics get out of hand here. I have been on other sites that were ruined by politics - some folks just can't stand the idea that others don't think the same way they do.

I agree ;) I used to think of myself as the "nice guy", and then the more I hang out here with some of the "know it all's" I found I was becoming one myself and then wound up over posting with "my opinions" and then was being corrected and ridiculed by the real "know it alls" that I am wrong and now I have decided I want to be the A-hole grouch of the community :p Oh that category wasn't mentioned was it:D nor was the ridiculer category ;)
actually I can think of a few more categories to add but will not post them on this "Great family site"

..."the opinionated know-it-all"...
They will usually end up on my ignore list... I know of one for sure ;) if they don't have anything of value to add after a dozen posts or gives out wrong information ... I'll add them to the list.

The posts are always interesting and the reaction to posts is always interesting. :D

We should start a pool for; The Most ignored list.:):confused2:

Then there is the one that only makes me chuckle... "the opinionated know-it-all"

Phew thank goodness that's not me!!!

Oh, wait, it has been determined to be a fact that HST is better than gear, right??

And that open station is absolutely better than cab???

And that Kubota is by far the best brand????

Man, you had me worried there for a minute that you might mean me!!

I have not made it to any of the TBN get togethers.

I always wonder what everyone is like away from the computer. Ie, All of us type different than we talk, and there is no personal inflection on a keyboard. By that, I mean the subtle nuances of voice, facial expression ect.

I have met a couple people in person from another board, and we have been good friends since. But, that was before the WWW. We met back before Windows, and GUI's. In the mid 80's, we had email digests. Back then, the Home Brew Digest was just that, a once a day email digest.

This is a great board. I read allot more than I post, most times the answer is given so I don't add to it. Other times it's fun to comment.

Only grip I ever have is ones that answer a question with the same answer already given by another poster. adding to a previous post is great, but read ALL the post, makes you look attentive..:D

I haven't seen anyone that has not been able to add to a topic. The knowledge base is pretty diverse and that's what makes this board fun..

Hey Radar! this is much too serious of a site to be having that much fun :D

Well, here's hoping I haven't made it on anyone's ignore list just yet. :)

I second Eddie's comment about asking the forum for input on projects. I also love reading strings that have details and pix. I get tons of ideas that way and it's fun to see how creative people are.

It's a great group!

I have not made it to any of the TBN get togethers.

Hey Robert, some of us get together at the World AG Expo in Tulare, I think that there may be a couple of newer guys showing up this year, maybe you could make it down to it too. Second week of February, Tue, Wed, Thur. LOTS of tractors and implements to look at.

Geeez, Ignore lists...Wow ! You mean there is a chance that someone has put me on ignore....Yikes ! So that would mean they don't like me ? That's hard to take and here I have lived all these 66 yrs. believing everyone I met really liked me...Golly, I sure hope no one is ignoring me...:D

For me, the best part is the problem solving that comes about.
Same problem, but a multitude of ideas to resolve them.
Like the cliche says, there's more'n one way to seperate a cat from it's fur coat.:laughing::laughing:
