Here's the picture after the fence posts were set in the holes, but not tamped or cemented. I also used my PT425 to drag the bleachers about 60ft to right behind home plate. In normal ball diamonds, you can't have anyone sit back there, but this is Tball, so there is no pitcher to distract.

Is that then the same as agracultural lime like you'd spread on the ground to sweeten the soil?

I don't think so. This is limestone that has been crushed down to less than about an eight of an inch. It packs down very well and drains good too. It is reasonably priced and gives the field a nice white appearance. I like clay better, but this is what we have. It gets a little hard and the ball moves fast on the bounce. It does wash out of the kids' clothes easier than clay. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Don't pin that job on me /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif I think I have proven myself more than irresponsible enough to ever be tapped for that one /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Besides, I'd probably have to go in and tell myself to not be so long winded and to stop suggesting Power Tracs as the answer to everyones' questions( although we know they are /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif )

mr. m.r. there was never any doubt in my mind that POWER TRAC is the only thing to have, add on and build on .....RIGHT!

regardless of your bashfulness you are not just for us pters a very valuable member of society .. and that is no bull ...keep up the good work.

OK, MR, its time for you to get back to the PT forum. Things have been too quiet over there recently.

Re: TBall Diamond Renovation Complete!

I coached my son's team in t-ball last year ....our field was in sad shape too...........The league roto tilled the base paths and left it that way.....My kids were throwing mud chunks at each other rather than fielding baseballs..........I hauled in 5 tons of sand and used a walk behind vibratory roller to pack the basepaths.............when we were done............No more mud and basepaths smooth enough to land aircraft on...........I don't know why they neglect the youngest ones so much....they would have left our field a rough muddy mess all season if me and another coach hadn't stepped in........Hats off to you on your excellent renovation job...............Tom

Re: TBall Diamond Renovation Complete!

I'd like to thank everyone at TBN for the help, suggestions and encouragement. Mostly, I'd like to thank Rodney, the other father that acted as foreman and planner. Me and my PT425 were basically labor. Rodney did most of the hard physical labor while I sat on the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. Without him, none of this would have happened.

What great fun watching the kids play. Nothing, and I mean nothing is more fun or satisfying than watching kids enjoy themselves and not have a clue as to the work that you did for them. They are just out there having fun. That's what it's all about, folks. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

So, to quote myself:

" I used to do a lot of volunteer work, but kind of got disgusted with mankind for about 10 years... I recently got over it "

I'm glad I did. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Isn't that the truth!

Nice job.

Outstanding job David! I'll have to swing by there at lunch and have a look. You are to be commended, not just for your hard work but also for your community spirit /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: TBall Diamond Renovation Complete!

Those children playing on that field you created also have the benefit of you as their role model. This they will carry for the rest of their lives and hand down to their children.
