Has anybody tried one of these? Truck Tailgate Dampers - AutoTruckToys.com I saw someone that had one, and when you open your tailgate it just lets it float down. I didn't know if it was worth the money or not.

Yes I have one of those on my Dodge and it works great. Just pull the handle and let it go. No breaking of cables

I have an E Z Down brand, but the same principle, and LOVE IT! (ezdown-dot-com)
As Newblue says, no broken cables and for me, no broken hip as I try to catch that blasted heavy gate with both hands full of what-I'm-trying-to-load.
Installed in minutes and has not given me a moment's trouble (hope that didn't jinx me now).
