The tachometer on my 1500D is starting to jitter a bit. When the speedometers on my trucks did that in the past I could find a small bottle in the parts stores which was to be attached to the speedometer end of the cable to lube it. (That was before the automakers changed the design to require a new $80 cable). I haven't seen those lube bottles for years. Any suggestions on lubing the cable? I pulled it of the tractor, but was unable to take it apart.

On old tractors.. like from the 50's.. I hit them real good with penetrating oil.. let it run all the way through.. then tried addind some sort of lithium or molybdneum lube.. teflon even.. any light weight oil.. etc

Ideally a graphite based lube would be better.. but doubt you could get it introduced well..
