Hello All!
Thank you for letting me join your "little" group I just purchased a 2001 Terramite
t7 with a 3 cylinder Isuzu diesel 24 hp engine. The over all condition is decent (1400 hours) but the motor might be junk. It starts up instantly(4 sec of glow glugs) and runs with no smoke (also no coolant in the radiator). There was coolant staining all on top of the radiator and the rear freeze plug in the head was popped out. There was no cracks or staining on the outside of the block. I do not know if the head or block is cracked. I made a BIG mistake (jumped the gun!) of taking the head off because i thought it was just the head gasket was blown. I should have filled the radiator, changed the oil +filter and started it to see what is going on. So now I am going to put on a new head gasket and fix (resolder) the radiator and pop in a freeze plug. Longshot...maybe it will work. There is very little info about Isuzu engines. If not will the Kubota diesel/Honda v twin bolt right in? I am trying to figure out my next move.....Thank you very much....Dean

Well the good news is it starts, so compression is at least reasonable. I agree with jaotguy and your plan, might as well proceed as long as you are not seeing signs of catastrophic damage. When you get it reassembled and coolant leaks fixed, please post back with results.

3 idiot dash lights wires fixed
Chris hand made a cover for the 3 gage pack - old school
wiring fixed...reroute and enclosed in plastic wire loom
3 new outside switches with rubber covers
flip battery and reroute positive cable ...clean terminals and fill with acid
fix oil breather and diesel fuel cap (previous dip **** monkeys)
fix hand throttle - unstick w pb blaster
4 bushings and fender washers for roof cover -no more rattle
forward/reverse foot lever fixed and stops adjusted
fuel pump was after the filter(drooltards) reroute and place before master fuel filter
add metal diesel pre-filter
fix motor mount (remove and drill out holes to hold fuel filter housing with 2 bolts)
buy a tube of limited slip additive mojo for rear diff - shaker auto
ajust forward/reverse petal and fix pivot bolt- easy to drive now
1/4-20 lug nut 13/16 hex for wheel (shaker auto)
weld chains on for outriggers (twice
new seat with arm rests (northern tool) xwm1160 $140 really nice
3 red lenses for idiot lights Allied Electronics $20. (bought 12 pc)
fix brake band and hardware $110 55620 55613 22042 (next time go kart brake band)
make 2 spacers for brake stand-off neufell machining
1" x 3" pin for backhoe swing lock $8 r+r tool
fix front hood - reweld both nuts
remove ugly front hood latches-

sawzall off 4 tires - wow!!! tuff job
fix rim dents(heat and beat) wire brush and da sand (100 grit)
paint inside of rims w/ silver por15 (fast acting/long lasting) lol
put on 4 new tires....fill w/rv antifreeze -50 gal- Wallyworld $2.67/gal)
shaker auto - 5 of each extra air, oil, hydrulic, diesel,pre fuel filters $170
new 40 amp breaker (bat to alt)
