Synthetic in X485

I just bought Castrol Syntec 10w-30 API SM, SL, SJ, CF for my X485 with the Kawasaki liquid cooled engine. Hours are 110.

Owners manual calls for JD Turf-Guard which is API SL rated 10w-30.

As long as the API is as good or better everything should be cool right???

You are doing that JD a good thing running syn. The SL is now replace by SM rating with some slight additive changes. The biggest issue is with flat tappet cams. IE Chevy 350 etc. I really don't think the change will cause any problems in engines like yours. We are running this oil in our JD 425 and Kawasaki Mule. It has the old additive pack of the SL designated oil. So far so good.

Does the Kawasaki have flat tappet cams? If so, should I just use the JD Turf Guard SL API rated oil???
