I am sick of getting wet and cold working here in alaska at our property. I have the canopy but when the temp only got above 70 twice last year, I want to enjoy working out at the property warm with some music.

The problem I have is that I have the L2185 6' front snowblower. Looking at the attachment chart, I have the L2180 quick hitch, 2182 driveline kit. The 5740 requires the l2186 driveline kit and the snowblower is an L2195. Looks to be the same snowblower, but it comes with the chute rotater where the 2185 doesnt.

Has anyone upgraded from the 30 series to the 40 series? Will the snowblower work on both? I dont want to buy a whole new blower and mount system as I will loose big time on this. Can I just take off all the mounting and put it on the 5740?

We just did what you are talking about from a L4630GST to a L5740HST and we did have to change the driveline kit, the quick hitch and everything else fit fine.

So the mount kit will bolt up the same to the front of the tractor by the brushguard and underneath where it mounts to the loader? Do you have the L2185 snowblower? Is the driveline kit just the shaft that goes in the mount? If so, why did you need to get a different one? Can a guy just lengthen the shaft or what was the problem? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure everything is squared away for the new machine.

The L2180 quick hitch can be used on the smaller Grand L's (L3130, 3430, 3830, L3240,3540,3940) and the large Grand L's (L4330, 4630,5030, L4240 ,4740,5040 ,5240, 5740). Do you have the manual for the hitch? In the manual it shows different mounting holes. Your going to have to move some of the brackets. It's not to big of a job, it's the brackets that accept the middle pins. The mid shaft does have to be longer because the L5740 is longer than the L3130, maybe a "guy" could do that but I've never seen that done.

I do have the manual for the mount and I do remember the different holes and adjusting the front height when I installed it. I didnt remember if it was for the 40 series though. This gives me a warm and fuzzy. I will have to look at the system when I get my new tractor and see how long the driveshaft will have to be lengthened. I suppose if it doesnt need much length, a guy could take it in and get it modified for 100 bucks or so. Thanks for all the help parker.
