Swinging drawbar

The swinging drawbar fell off my 7360 sometime last fall while doing some cleanup after a timber harvest. I went to the CC dealer today for air, oil, and fuel filters and priced the drawbar..... $120.... for a flat steel bar with 3 holes!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

So, if anyone with a 7360 would do me a favor and measure their drawbar. I can buy one from Speeco or others. I just need to know the dimensions and the hole size.

Sorry it took me so long to get together with my drawbar /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
Looks like it is metric: 25mm X 50mm are the critical sizes.
It seems to be about 500mm long with holes from one end at 112mm, 362mm and 462mm. The hole is 20mm in diameter. All holes are centered on the bar.
It looks like a 1" X 2" cold rolled bar would work just fine as there is some slop in the receiver. I would not call this "swinging" on my tractor except for the slight movement the slop gives it.

Although I don't know the sizing on your drawbar, I don't understand why you couldn't just take the specs from above and have a steel bar fabricated. That's what I did when I had a Kubota L2350....rather than pay the $78 or so for the "kubota" brand, I had one made for about $8. And I even got two extra holes in mine!!!

How do you think it fell off? I should probably check mine for tightness. Wouldn't want to lose it, let alone hit it with the mower.

Jason, thanks for the idea. I think that's what I will do.

Gerald.... my drawbar which was held in place with a hitch pin and clip. Those clips are not worth a $hit. I suspect that the clip came off and the hitch pin bounced out, leaving the weighted (I usually kept a grab hook attached) drawbar to slip out. When I was a kid, I worked on a fruit farm with 4 tractors and numerous implements. The farmer always used cotter pins instead of the spring clips. Now I understand why.

To prevent that, I had the hitch pin stuck in from the bottom and the clip on top so it would be less likely to snag on something. Worked for me, may not for someone in different working conditions.

I also do just what Bird described. My Father-in-law taught me that trick many years ago, and I've never lost a pin (yet....).
