Went out to check on things yesterday and was a little surprised to see that I wasn't the only one using the tractor.... :) After I thought about it, it seems like a good location - high and dry and I don't imagine too many predators would climb the boom. I left it for now, but probably should remove it before it's full of eggs. Just glad it wasn't a mouse nest - had one of those under my atv seat in the fall and it still stinks!

I know how you feel ..over the years that has happened to me several times...my 2 cents..the sooner you move the nest the better...you don't want to give up your back hoe until they hatch...I waited once and was sorry and the other couple of times I move the nests as soon as I saw them...

Yeah, I noticed my air compressor cart has a nest with eggs in it. Guess I'm out of luck with using that for a while :(

When I was a kid Wrens had a habit of building nests in the Binder twine box as well as between the radiator and fan on one of the tractors. :D

I guess I was pretty lucky last year. A pair of Robins made a nest in the bush right next to my study window. Literally 2 feet from where I set my camera up to take some pix. They eventually got used to my comings & goings.

I missed a spring of fishing one year because the Robin's had built a nest under the seat in my upside down canoe.

Why is it I love duck hunting but when it comes to the song birds, they capture my heart everytime.??

not to sound hartless but if there are eggs in it and you move the nest birds will reclutch or build a new one and lay more eggs. Im a forester so i work hand in hand with bioligists, you would be supprised some of the things that wildlife guys will do to protect another species.

I know around here the hispanic population will trip all over themselves to get their hands on robin eggs or other small bird eggs. It seems you'd need quite a few to make an omlet.

Birds are cute in pictures, Not in my machinery or in my buildings.

I've got those darn barn swallows nesting on top of my light juncton boxes. They track mud everywhere! one of these days I've got to put a door on my building. Until then, I'll just have to live with the mudflappers. Can't bring myself to killing them.

Sure doesn't take long for those little bugger to claim.
Couple years ago had raccoon like taking long naps on tractor seat.

Looks like it could be Wren's nest... some family members had a wren build a nest in a ball cap hanging on the back of porch rocker....after the first time they left the hat and the wren returned many times to lay her clutch...

Yeah, I was thinking it was about the right size for wrens. I moved it today to a nearby spot -- we'll see if they reclaim it or not. The tractor is in my temporary 'garage-in-a-box'. It's far from critterproof, but I'd never seen any signs of birds in there before.
