Any opinion on the Supertrak TL 150? Looks like I will get to demo one next week. By the numbers it is a little behind the RC100 in hydraulic HP.
I did demo a T300/Fecon last week, the job came out very good and I was happy with the finished product. I do not have anything to compare it to yet but the pricing and dealer support is good.

The non-ASV dealers I talk to say the ASV Undercarriage is expensive but I would think forestry applications would not wear it as site work would. Any input?

Thanks,
Ted

No, still not finished with the orchard...

All dealers will badmouth the competition. They pick on ASV because there the best and what everybody compares to.

Joe on here loves his supertrak but he runs the 120 which has alot more H.P. and flow. Check the price of the 150 verses a ASV and see what you get. I don't now the 150's price is why I suggest that.

The only area i would caution in is the radiator placement and "stacking"of them. Joe complained specifically about this area. I think the 150's radiator location is similiar.

If you demo a ASV you will tell a difference. 20 H.P. difference is significant. I demoed a bobcat before a ASV and was WOWED at the difference. The difference between the Rc-100 and the supertrak 120 is 27 H.P. and 1000psi more and the difference there is significant.

But it boils down to your experience, dealer support, and the jobs you plan to handle. I have 100 h.p. and a very efficent head and run out of H.P. regulerly(spell). I will fix that soon.

Hope this helped. Robbie

Robbie, what are your HP plans? I need some too :D

hey Johnny

If you like the look of the 87 then look at the 130/140. i have a demo sceduled as soon as they get it back from loan. With the power our tractors put out the 87 would only be lateral movement, not a step up. Now the 130/140 has 6000+ psi and 67-69 gpm on hyd. I plan to see just how big a tree it will handle and I'll let you know.

How's business?? Robbie

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA.

ASV is the best. You've got to be kidding. If you believe that $6,000 track replacement costs, $10,000 undercarriage repairs costs and 2 hour track replacement time is "the best", you have pretty limited experience or vision. ASV may work well in an AG application but they don't make it in construction. Our trade-in numbers were up in '06 with Cat 247s and 277s with 800-1100 hours on them that needed tracks and major undercarriage work.

They may work for you, but they sure aren't what other people judge by.

UFM82

This the second posting from you with complaints on CTL's. This one seems more generic than the last. I think the post after your post in the tracked skid thread addressed those issues.

The question I pose is this. If you are so unhappy with CTL's in the "construction" environment why are you using them?? With the repairs you listed it sounds like a dozer is in order. Or some other form of equipment as to avoid the repairs. And that being said there would be upkeep and ware issues with any equipment in an harsh environment.

Now for the record I would not consider cutting a path 900' long and 15' wide through 6-8" pine trees with one every 2 square feet or so an AG application. I'll put my ASV up against any standard CTL anyday, anytime. When Cat comes up with 20 extra H.P. they can come play too. I would also consider carrying a 2500lbs. attachment all the time far more harsh than a load of dirt or rock carried from here to there and the hyd. running wide open for 4-6 hrs. straight.

You are absolutely entilted to your opinion and all the mulching guys running RC-100's on here will stick to ours.

Respectfully, Robbie

UFM, in another thread you posted all these things about how bad all others are and then Digdeep responded to you and in my opinion addressed every point you mad with counterpoints that pretty much in my opinion put you in your place. I watched to see if you would respond in an articulate manner with points that would prove your assertions and of course you did not.

You ignored it and thus pretty much made me realize you were there to bash and not really discuss.

Is your intent here to bash or really discuss the benefits and virtues of various machines? Do you really run a mulching machine and can you verify like others have asked you to do? Would you please respond to Digdeeps posts in an intelligent and articulate response letting us know why you feel the way you do.

Please, be constructive or go away.
