Right now there is a very very large load moving from Houston through Bryan/College Station for a new power plant near Waco TX. The load is 1.7 million lbs, 39ft wide and 300 feet long. It moves 10 miles per DAY.

A local TV station KBTX has the story on their web site with comments from their listeners. It is a hoot reading some of the comments - you would think that the world revolves around them and their activities. Such whinning:rolleyes:

It will pass within about 3 miles of me next week and I will try to get pictures to post. My son is going to try to get some stop motion pictures if there is some other activity other than just slowly moving by.

WOW the comments are almost sad. THe one was going to have to take a differnt route to work two days. I want her life if that is a major issue.

I read an article somewhere about these new tranformers. THey are marvel of engineering.

That is the one.

When it gets to the north side of Bryan it will turn east on OSR, that is when it will pass close to us. They are at least 3 days behind schedule because of the rains we have had. They do not travel in the rain.

There is an 8 mile stretch of Texas 6 north of Navasota that is under construction and no way around it. There will be a lot of fussing there.

Note: if any of you non Texans want to google it I will post some place names.

Get some of those mobile home delivery drivers, they will have it delivered before sundown!! ;)
I've had those guys pass me when I was doing 65mph in a 55 zone!

LOL

And a close second choice would be the guys who deliver roof trusses laying down.

I think it's the crashed space ship from Roswell, made up to look like a generator.

It's kinda like pulling a train without any tracks.

How many spare tires/wheels do you think they are carrying with them? I'd love to know if they make it the whole way without a single blowout. Wouldn't that make a great tire commercial?:D
