farmall super A
I am rebuilding my 1949 super A c113 engine. I will be replacing the pistons and sleeves to the 3.125 bore. the question I have is with the step top pistons. are these an option to increase compression for this engine or are they spicific to engines origionaly equiped with them. Any information would be helpfull.

You can use the step head pistons...(called "Fire Crater" by IH...) I've got them in a Farmall 230 and a 140...Both of those were the 123cu in engines..you can also get the same ones for the SA...they just have thinner sleeves...It may only add about 5hp though..BobG in VA
