Anybody have any suggestions for a good CAD freeware program? I've tried CAD Standard and it is fairly good, but the freeware version is rather limited. Just wondering if there is something better out there for casual personal use - for free of course! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Myself and another guy I work with use progeCAD 2006 Professional. I have just done some simple layouts for YAPB (Yet Another Pole Barn) and a book case I want to put in. Works pretty good.

Good luck,
Eddie

Take a look at CADvance. The 16 bit version (6.5) is free. The first 32 bit version ( I have v7.2) is small dollars. Both are good. Ver 7.2 has some interchange with AutoCAD up to R13 I believe.

Just another option.

Take a look at the FreeCAD site...

Free CAD software

I've used IMSI's TurboCAD LE for years. Just 2D but has worked out pretty well for me. The download link is on the above list. You have to register (free) with that particular site to use their downloads, but a google may show up alternative download links for TurboCAD LE.
