I'm with Highbeam and FastPat. I suspect it will cost more than $400 to get these removed but it will still be cheaper than a backhoe. If you had long term projects for the backhoe you could figure that in the equation once you get a realistic estimate from an excavator.

A backhoe on the DK35 will work just fine. I've removed several with mine, a few over 24". But, if that's your only real use, and economics is a driving factor (as it usually is), then it would be much cheaper and faster to pay to have them removed. And they'll dispose of them for you too.

Not sure it'll ever fully pay for itself, but I love having my backhoe for whenever I need it. It saves my back, and lots of time too. I find I will do more projects knowing that I don't have to do a lot of manual digging.

I think it is very hard to justify having your own backhoe attachment economically, wanting one to play with and understanding that is a better justification. A friend of mine in the excavating business many years ago told me that a backhoe was "just plain handy to have" he was right.
