I bought a Tomahawk stump bucket for my 4046 yesterday and tried it out this morning on a big stump in the front yard .
I didnt really think it would do it, I was pleasantly surprised. Had it out of the ground in 10 or 15 minutes.

I actually got it to get rid of some saplings I let get out of control in the pasture. They are too big to bush hog and too many to chainsaw.
Being Thanksgiving and all I won't have a chance to try in field today, but I think they will be a breeze compared to that big persimmon stump..it was dead but solid and about twenty inches across.

Interested to know more about how the Tomahawk stump bucket is working out. I was thinking of getting one of these because it seems like about the least expensive option for digging up strumps if you already have a loader wtih QA. How is the build quality? Have you tried using it for any other stumps or digging up big rocks? What tractor are you using it on?

I have a LS 4046 Hydrostat. I have used it on more stumps. Still happy, I don't have any sizeable rocks on my farm. Think it would be fine.

The build seems to be pretty sturdy. The dealer did caution me that those were actually designed for skid steers and I could spring my loader arms if I tried to over do it. Told me to make sure and let the hydraulics do the work.
