A couple years ago I purchased a stump bucket(one of my worst purchases),impossible to see what you are doing.Sold to a fellow with a skid-steer.
It's one of those things that looks like a good idea but really isn't.Rent a back hoe or mini-ex.

get a dozer to push them out. One or 2 pushes per stump and it is over. Do it all in a couple days.
Or spend weeks digging them out with an excavator.
