I had a Reese Titan receiver hitch installed on my F-350. I have 1 7/8", 2", 2 5/16" and pintle hitches for it. I put in the 2" ball when I went to the rental yard for a chipper. I left the 2" ball in the receiver. I have to pick up a trailer with a 2 5/16" hitch. I just spent half an hour pounding out the 2" ball with a 20 pound sledge. I'm going to polish out the receiver after I take a break. Anybody have any suggestions/ experiences on whats good to put on the receiver to keep it from rusting together? Anti-seize maybe?

Ron; No reason antiseize wouldn't work. It makes a real mess on your bluejeans though. I spray something like Tri-flow into the receiver from time to time, and don't leave my ballmounts installed for more than a couple days at a time. I put antiseize on the balls all the time, again, it can make a mess, but the hitch balls don't corrode either. Another thing I do, is use a receiver plug whenever a ball mount isn't installed. Seems to keep a lot of crud out. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks, John. I'm going to try anti-seize.

The anti-seize should work or you could strip the paint and paint with slip-plate. It is a graphite paint.
