My problem is my back blade is only 6' wide and l need another 6" to a foot on each side to grade better. Now yes l could buy a wider blade but can't l just cut off say 2" from the stabilizer to get more outward swing/reach? This would allow the stabilizer to collapse farther in and allow more reach. Or am l nuts? Thanks folks, have a great day, Ernie

Hey - Welcome to TBN, Ernie. I suppose you could do what you suggest.

HOWEVER - this "collapsing of the stabilizer" may work just fine for your rear blade. It, very likely, could bring other implements IN CONTACT with your rear tire.

I would suggest not cutting the stabilizer. Be happy with what you have OR purchase a wider blade with an offset feature.

I guess your current blade does not have an offset feature.

After a second look at the stabilizer, l won't gain much. Just trying to avoid a 700-1000 dollar price tag on a wider one. I noticed some of the newer models you can slide the whole blade assy left or right. I just have to convince the other half we really need this. Thanks for reply and have a great day, Ernie
