Struck me as funny.

Was reading thread on commuting and thought about a couple of farmers I know that I meet on the road in the mornings on the way to work. My wife and I choose to live in the country and I in return commute to the city to work to pay for our 10 slice of heaven. Their wives want to live in the city and they have to commute to the country to work to pay for their small lot McMansion in a subdivision in town.

Almost seems like more farmers live in town than on their farm.

Its funny that you brought this subject up. My grandfather owned a seed corn business,
owned hundreds of acres and lived in town. Several other farmers nearby moved to town. Guess the grass is always greener........

Seems to be now that farms are so big, that having the home right on the farm isn't as desirable anymore. Lot of guys around here drive to where they are working that day, driving the tractor home isn't practical. I guess that in Europe, that is been common for many years.
