LS seems to be making a significant investment in the United States with their assembly plant in North Carolina. I am on my second tractor from LS and have been extremely happy with both purchases. The XU5065PS fit and finish is as good as anything out there and maybe exceeds some brands. I looked at Kioti prior to this purchase but the cab space was narrow. My vote is LS plus my dealer is great at supporting the line.

hits a sweet spot for my needs. If my favourite USA dealer stocked LS, one would be floated down here ASAP. There is no LS representation in New Zealand and it's tiny in Australia.
Case is here and has a good network, but the USA LS dealers don't stock the U6020/30 models that are similar to the case farmall 60B series here, from what I can make out.
There is Kioti here, but they are starting to creep up in price.
I bought a new tractor from a NZ dealer last time around because I was just a bit concerned about warranties and delays if I bought from USA and imported (which I have done with a fair bit of gear over the years, it's common for us in NZ to do this because we are so remote and small many good brands don't get representation here). But that purchase exposed me to the utterly atrocious, disrespectful nature of at least one local dealer. To the point I am more concerned about the integrity of the dealer than where in the world they are, and have learned a valuable lesson that buying local doesn't guarantee good after sales service.
Frankly, had I bought the same tractor from that favourite USA dealer and still experienced the bulk of the same problems with the tractor, I have absolutely no doubt I would have been better off and looked after far better by the USA dealer. So, while I'll never buy that brand of tractor again, I'd dearly like to purchase from the USA dealer who went out of his way to help me, a random on the other side of the world when the local dealer refused to stand behind the product they sold me.
I will drive you a XU5065PS to your door you send me the directions and fire the grill and chill the beer!:laughing: I like the seat time on this tractor that much, I would almost tell you to call Richards in Ellettsville see what his shipping charges would be.

No probs sorting my own shipping, but thanks for the link. Importing is a common occurrence and I have people I have worked with in the past that any future gear will be moved by. Further, It's often cheaper in the end to just move a FCL and find something else to stuff it full with if there is any room to fill it up. Sometimes, depending on timing, the local importers of used USA cars have enough spare room in their 40' FCLs for me to piggy-back on for very good rates.
The issue then becomes making sure the way the engines are set up can be or don't need to be set up differently for NZ fuel and conditions. Then it's cross the fingers and hope it keeps keeping on without any major breakage.
Perfect timing to deliver a new tractor as it's coming into Summer here, although if you plan on driving it (apart from it needing darn long snorkle and the best anti-rust treatment known to mankind, amongst other measures), it'll have a few hours on it by the time it got here, unless it's towing a brand new one. But any excuse for a cold beer and BBQ is a good excuse.
*editing to add* The other issue is we are mainly global/euro quick hitch FEL down here, not SSQA.

In my search, I couldn't find any reason to spend more money on big name tractor when the Korean tractors were so much less expensive and had better specs. I got down to Kioti and LS, both have very strong dealer networks in my area. The Kioti was a little more expensive and still used the HST rocker pedal as opposed to the two-pedal system that LS had went to. I drove both and went with LS and I've been very happy with mine. The Kioti came very close. I'd call those 2 brands easily the strongest companies in my area.

Funny you mention the 2 pedal hst. I tried a Farmalll B30 with the 2 pedals and did not like it and went for the Kioti with the rocker pedal lol. Either system work great for Kioti and LS. I guess it is preference. We do love our Korean tractors though.

I didn't know that Kioti used a rocker pedal. My Kioti NX series uses side-by-side pedals, which I like because it doesn't require shifting my leg position.

Right, if they can offer a gear or HST on the same model, it seems they could come up with a pedal arrangement option.

Ck series used the rocker pedal 20to 35 horse..I prefer the side by side that my DK and your NX uses.

I find the cab on my DK45 to be very large and wide, never compared it to a ls but couldn't imagine it would be any bigger...it's a big assed cab:thumbsup:

I got used to a two-pedal system from many years on a JD hydro lawn tractor. The rocker feels awkward to me and I can't "feather" or "feel" as well with my heel going in reverse as I can using my toes. Some reverse tasks require finesse and a light touch and I couldn't get that using my heel.

They use the rocker on the CK35 and some other models. I am a big fan of the side by side pedal like on the DK, running with one foot elevated and locked onto any of the rocker pedal gets real uncomfortable fast.
When I was shopping I looked real hard at what it would take to convert a rocker to a side by side but decided that it was best to just spend my money on a machine that had what I wanted. Having an option for which style pedal would have given some other brands more of a chance
There was a Kioti dealer about 10 miles from me but they know sell Massey Ferguson, if they would have stayed Kioti I would have took a serous look, nothing wrong with Massey but the price was higher than I wanted to spend. There is a LS dealer not to far away but I like the TYM in the size tractor I bought better.

I do not understand the huge price differences in the mark up. When all of the tractors are all imports. With pretty much the same cost to build and offer more standard features than the same big name tractor.

As LS and Kioti gain market share their prices likely will come up. As others lose share they may find cheaper was to manufacture and lower their prices.
