So - last night we got an inch and a half of new snow. That's our total snow now. The cocker spaniel can see all this new snow out on the porch. Excited to get outside. He licks up about two wheelbarrow loads of this new snow. Comes back in the house and burps for the next half an hour. Look all over this side of the yard - tongue drag marks everywhere.

Not my dog, but it deserves an honorable mention.

I have two a border collie and a cattle dog and my wife has a chihuahua. The chihuahua does not like the border collie at all and sometimes not the cattle dog. Good thing for her it is not the other way around. At times she is clamped onto one of the other dogs heels and going for a ride around the house. They mostly ignore her.

Had a Chesapeake retriever.
Great water dog (and I'm a duck hunter).
She'd find any duck part that I'd hide and retrieve it religiously.
However she had a problem, she would not swim!
Tried everything, like even swim with her etc.

As a wee pup she fell off of the boat and I suspected that scared her for life.
Oh well, she was also a good watch dog and pals with my kids.

I have a lake( 10 acres ) right off my front porch. It's typical for this area, in that, the sides are 25' to 40' vertical basaltic lava cliffs. We brought a young black lab down with us from Alaska in '82. Like most all labs - he enjoyed swimming in the lake. However - access can be quite difficult. There are no stairs - no valleys - no trails down to the water. It would usually take him 3-5 minuets to skinny down the cliffs. Sooo .... one day he is standing up on top of the cliffs and a bright idea must have lit off in his brain. He spun around - trotted back from the cliff - took off like a bullet - jumped off the cliff. When he hit the water you could hear this enormous - OOFF. I thought I was going to have to make a rescue right there. It took him a couple minuets to "regain" himself - he never tried that again.

My lake - cliffs are the same on both sides of the lake. View attachment 684868
