Our mini dachshund couldn't resist a folded blanket on the bed.

Set a folded blanket on the bed and that dog had to root through it. He would pull and prod it, flip and flop the blanket around. Tunnel under it to the other side. Fluff it up some more. Then flop on top, smack dab in the middle, and then wiggle around it on his back.

I used to wait till something else caught his attention and he moved off from the blanket. Then I would fold it back up nice and crisp, and place it somewhere else on the bed.

He would start all over till he got it fluffed back up to his liking

Priceless! We had a Boston Terrier that did that. We miss him.

I used to stay at my Mothers when I had projects in the City. I would take my cat Sniper (Died at 21 yrs). My Mom lives in a condo, eleven stories up. I would never have any schedule. Yet my Mom noticed that the cat could sleep all day, yet get up and wait for me just "prior" to my arrival. No possibility of hearing my truck nor anything like that. And besides, her getting up was a little before me getting very near.

No matter where our two Bostons are in the house, or how sound asleep they are, nor how deliberately quiet I try to be, I cannot take the wrapper off a slice of cheese without them standing there looking at me before I can get it unwrapped. Same for opening the cookie jar, and my package of beef jerky.

Kali the Lizard dog. My dog goes crazy chasing lizards. One day I left my outdoor carpets from the RV laying on the ground. Her craziest move is at about 30 seconds.

Cool! Bostons are fun pets. Our two like to play "chase" around the yard until they are pooped. They also have a game I call "Stick". They will pick up a stick, both dogs will grab hold of it, and they run around the yard, side by side, holding the stick...or they will play chase, and try to get the stick away from the other. One will pick up the stick, run up to the other, show them the stick, and off they go!

They are also wooses...all of them. They don't like to go outside on the grass if it's a little bit wet, or frosty, or if it's raining just a little bit, but today, they have been out three times playing chase...it is below 20 degrees, and there is about 2 inches of ice and snow on the grass. like they say, they are just children with hair on them.

Like 2LaneCruiser, my dogs are the same. Impossible to open the fridge door or a bag of sweets (or anything) without our 3 'hearing' it. I can take a bag of lollies into the bedroom to open them and they will beat the door down trying to get in. Then if you pretend you haven't got anything they look at you like you are a rotten sod and follow you till you give in.
Our food is their food (or so they believe)

My current and previous lab is/was the same way. They could be sound asleep, two rooms away yet all I need to do is open the refrigerator door and take out the package of cheese and have a brown dog waiting for me to share. The funny thing is that both of my trucks have open boxes of treats right next to Ruger's head; but he won't get into them and waits for me to reach in and take one out.

Thats how it is in our house with tater chips and starburst jelly beans.

Tater chips, you will have her undivided attention.

You will get hurt if you have Starburst jelly beans and don't give her a preemptive call before opening the bag.

If she is in the other room, she will come running and launch herself into your lap

People that don't have pets get freaked out when an animal stares at them while they're eating!

I've had two dogs in the last 25 years... they learn very quickly that sitting there staring is a sure way to not get anything. I don't care for a begging dog. If I'm eating cheese or something else which I tend to share; Ruger will be laying nearby, but not underfoot and definitely not staring at me.

Now if I can get him to stop cowering when he's out in public and somebody's paying attention to him...

My 3 make me feel guilty by staring at me. I'm sure that is their deliberate intention.

It's never a good thing when they gang up on you.

We have 4 (currently) rescue labs. 2 came from actual shelters, and 2 came from people who wanted to dump them off. 3 of our 4 will come running like lightning from anywhere in the house if they hear the ice maker in the kitchen refrigerator kick on (like to fill a glass with ice from the door). They will sit there and beg for an ice cube like it's food from the gods. Give them each one and they'll think they've had the greatest treat there is. The 4th, and oldest one, couldn't give a toss about ice cubes, and thinks the other 3 are stupid for wanting them.

All 4 of them will come when they hear a cheese wrapper. Wifey gives our oldest ones pills wrapped in cheese, so that's what "started" it. But they each get a small piece of cheese when the 2 oldest ones get their morning pill, "So that it's fair". So yeah, just like in the picture, they hear a cheese wrapper from the other end of the house, or even while in the basement, and they're right there.

Each one came with their own "story", some were sad, but all were given up on by at least one previous owner. Mostly just neglect, but one was physically abused (had his ribs broken previously, we found that out during one of his frequent vet visits when he needed an X-ray done). They each have their own set of quirks and a different personality. They have bonded to us and each other, now we are all one family "pack". They have a safe place to live, a fully fenced and secured back yard to run in, and they are never left outside regardless of the weather. I'd say they have it pretty good.

One of the "worst" and strangest things I've had one do (and this one wins the all time record for me-life time dog owner) our small yellow lab one time took a fresh turd out of the toilet bowl like he was bobbing for apples, carried it into the living room, and laid down with it and ate it. We had guests over at the time, and their youngster went to use the bathroom, for some reason did his business and didn't flush. Dog went in, found the "prize" and proceeded to carry it off. Didn't even know what happened (we were all in the other room) until the whole deed was done. Kind of revolting and disgusted us all (including our guests). I mean how do you even process that?

Lol. He's a great, sweet "little" (60 pounds) dog. But Dang, that's just weird and kind of disgusting all at the same time. It took a while to look at him after that without getting weirded out.

Same dog will also go after and beg for used tissues. Like after you've blown your nose or wiped your face with one, he wants it. He wants it bad. He will sit there and beg for it like it's a dog biscuit. Just a weird little guy.

Our newest member is a 2 year old black lab. He's just full of it all the time. Ready to play at any moment, life is an adventure, like all lab puppies. He lived in a cage at a previous owner's house. They even had 2 young kids, but no one "had time" for the dog, so it literally lived in it's cage for it's first year of life. He wasn't even house broken. He seems to have outgrown most of his abandonment issues, but he will still cry and yip sometimes when we leave for work. He also has to be close to one of us all the time. He's getting better at it, and consistency and a permanent home where he gets lots of play time (by us and the other dogs) has really helped him behavior wise.

Our 12 pound tough guy Boston loves ice cubes. He can hear the ice dispenser from anywhere in the house and comes running for his treat.
