Hello
I believe there is a wire that you will have to remove to get the cap off.
It can be a PITA to get it out.
You may have to find something to push it out.
The ones that I have removed had a tail sticking out that you could use vice grips to hold onto.
Hope this helps

There is a retianing wire...You have the older style cylinders. You need to turn the cap till you see the end of the wire, then get a pick under the wire as you turn the cap to start the wire out of the hole. Search the term "wire" in the hydraulics forum.

Keeping in the same thread for discussion and future searching so others can learn from your experience is really helpful. And linking to a previous thread is helpful too.

Saves a lot of search time looking up your previous posts that had the earlier discussion.

Making a Subject line specific to the problem also helps (as you may have noticed when doing a search :) )

The threads(s) have helped me to understand the inner workings of the cylinders on my 430 FEL on my 4300. So far they are holding up well.

Thanks again guys. I see the wire your talking about. I'll give it a try when I get a chance and report back. Now I can see the value of keeping it all in one thread. I'll do better next time.

Anytime you can post a picture of something like that it helps a ton! With a couple good pics, a lot of us here could have told you exactly how to disassemble it.
