First off... this was a simple and easy thing to build (ok really super simple compared to the rest of the stuff on TBN ;)) I wanted to build the step for a while that may protect the HST filter (a little).

I get on and off from the right side more than I should... the FEL joystick was a little in the way so I cut it down 8" and although it's harder to feather it, I'm used to it and like it. I had spare bolts and some scrape steel that I used, IIRC, 3" angle that was 3/8" (?) thick.

I used the holes in the FEL loader mount to bolt a 6" piece that was flush with the bottom. Then used a longer piece (?) that I notched and bent to bolt up to another hole in the FEL frame at an angle. Once the two pieces were bolted I clamped and welded it only on the topside, I used AC-6011 1/8" @ 135.

I liked how it doesn't flex, I plan to trim off or round off the edges but wanted to use it for a while as is. I would notch the step back if I were to do it again (see the last photo).

I added a right side step to my TC 55 when it was delivered. I cheated and removed the right side step off the TC45 I traded in. Matches perfectly, no welding or painting.

Haha. So does my cub cadet.

Honestly, loader joystick or not, who the h3ll is only going to ever get off their tractor on the left side only? I get into tricky situations in the woods all the time where its actually easier to go through the operator station than around the tractor, haha.

Serious If I were to buy again, it will be the other orange (most likely). Sorry to see you leave the jerky hitch club :D If I was an actual member ;) I would have sold out too . And to think I thought no one saw this thread :p

Beats me, too. It's not a horse!!! I have a feeling I'm going to use this step a lot... Maybe since it's an economy model they couldn't afford to put a step on the other side!!! :mur:

Only one step? Thats like a cab without 2 doors !!! The new 5083e comes with one door .. the second is an option.

Nice job on the step!!!

Paint??!! What's that? ...and it's not a project without welding. Wish I can figure out more welding projects  Thanks for the comment (thought no one was going to make a comment :p) I would have been happy with comments like... "my sister can weld better then that!!!"

I think it is great.. But my massive 175 lb posterior and anterior elements may create a crack larger than my posterior element desires to have....
