Depends on what kind of tractor you have, could be stripped gears or a bad pump etc.

What kind of work were you doing when the steering stopped and where? It may help you or others to a possible cause.

Before getting into the steering controller and valves check the basics. Check the hydraulic oil level. Make sure all hydraulic lines are good and are connected. Same with the steering linkage. Let us know what you find.

Your tractor has a separate pump for the steering. It shares the hydraulic fluid with the trans.
The steering wheel also drives a pump... So I would first check the hydraulic fluid level, then the hoses at the steering pumps, and then the cylinder that poshes the tie rods... Most likely you have a hose leaking... KennyV

Happened to me and steering pin had fallen out requiring a new lock plate ,pin and bushings. Look on ground for pin about 2" wide 6 " long with a grease fitting or lay on your back under front end and look up where tie rods connect to plate and follow it back. I was able to take the two bolts out of locking plate and reinstall pin to limp drive it back to garage to repair.
