I was on my tractor today, a Kioti CK27, and I noticed that both the left and right steering arms are loose. I've only got about 50 hours on the tractor and I'd never noticed this before. Are they supposed to be that way?

When I say "loose", I mean that there's a bit of play in the arm when I twist them. They seem to move fairly freely against the posts that hold them in place. The tractor seems to steer fine. This just concerns me.

Are you talking about the hydraulic steer cylinders or the tie rod between the two wheels?

If I'm not mistaken the steer cylinders have ball joints on them and I think the tie rod does too. If there are ball joints on the ends then yes they should have some movement when you grab them and try to twist.

I'm talking about the hydraulic steering cylinders. They move quite a bit when I twist them. The tie rod is solid.

Thanks for the reply.

Mine twist around easily so I would say it is normal.
