John Deere F925
Hello one and all,
Just joined in and I am hoping there are those that may help me with my John Deere F925. While I was preparing for the 2016 grass cutting season, I have been doing Preventive Maintenance to get ready. While cleaning the battery terminals and cable, I had to replace a cable terminal connection. No problem. Once I buttoned up everything, I tried to start her and nothing. I found the battery was dead, so I replaced it. I checked it with a battery tester before installing it and it checked out okay. I installed it, secured it and then tried to start it. I am on the seat with the parking brake on. I wait till the fuel pump chimes in for a couple of seconds, then try to start it. It didn't even get close then I hear what sounded like a circuit breaker going out and it sounded as if it came under the right side panel. HELP! I don't have a Technical Manual and the Owners manual doesn't go there. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello again,
In reference to starting my JD F925, I have found that the 6 plug modulator under the right side panel Makes a loud click when I try to start her up, then all goes dead. If I remove the modular for about a minute and then plug it back in an turn the key on, everything lights up again. When I try to start her, the modulator pops again and all goes dead. Do I have something that is not in the right position, or something that doesn't short out till I try starting it or do I simply replace the modulator?

Hey Joe,
Thanks for the offer for the Tech Manual. I have one already, thanks. Its not helping me get to the root of my problem but I'm going back through everything I've done. Hopefully, I will find the problem and correct it.

Hello ZZVYB6,
Understandable question but no. I did find due to battery post position relative to the cable layout, that the cables were crossing each other. I have taken measures to correct this problem. Thanks for your input.

Hello once again ZZVYB6 and all others who pitched in,
As i stated, I had to re-route the positive cable , as it was short of the post on the battery. Once that was corrected, wire tied in place and cables hooked up, I put the seat back down, sat down and gave her a try. She fired right up!
I was surprised that, even with an additional insulator sleeve on the positive battery cable, that its crossing the negative cable was causing the trouble that I never had before cleaning the terminal clamps. Weird.
Anyway, Thanks to all for your help!
