Starter JD Gator 620i

Could someone please give a little help on changing starter on gator 620i..I've read other forums and not accurate info..would rather hear it from someone who has gator 620i

What problem are you running into and what are you finding to be "not accurate" ??

If going to work on it yourself (DIY), then I'd suggest to get a copy of the service tech manual for the 620i. It will prove to be very helpful and save you $$$

The problem was getting to top bolt of starter without taking solenoid off,and then is still a pain...However, by taking off outside of belt housing and drill 1/2 in hole in line with top bolt of starter through inner belt housing. The project can be done in about 1 hr. Once starter is installed used silicone gasket maker to plug drilled hole....thanks to those who replied..hope this helps others with 620i gators..

Seems like a reasonable solution to a problem. But still at an hour to remove and replace a starter does not sound like the JD people gave this much thought when designing the unit.
