Starlink

Yes, you can. I have the ethernet adapter and it goes to my Netgear router.
My switch and hardwired equipment is plugged into the Netgear router and then I have the Starlink wireless as well as the two Netgear wireless networks to choose from.

I do similar with Eero. Not on bypass.

Anyone know how to get the internal temperature of the router? It used to be part of the "Debug" information, but now I can only find a line item that reports "Temperature Normal".

Thanks!

I tried to look for you but I can't even find the debug data at all in the app now?

Yes, it also took me awhile to find it in the current location. After the fact, it seemed obvious, but I think that I opened every other menu and submenu first.

In the Starlink app, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the first page. On the very bottom right corner is a text in a fainter grey "ADVANCED", clicking that gets to a summary page that if one scrolls all the way to the bottom gets to "Debug data".

All the best,

Peter

Ah. I would not have noticed that myself. Thanks!

I did not find anything related to temperature other than you did.

Can you run both the Starlink router and a router of your own or does the Starlink router have to be in bypass mode if you want to have another router?
I run both. The dishy is on our barn (taller than house). SL router serves the barn. Ethernet goes from barn to house. House is fully wired (cat 6e?). That feeds the in house router (wifi6). Works great unless power goes out!

My problem with Starlink ( why I won't buy it ) is the cost. $600 up front?? And then $120 each month? Are they kidding?

So, I will continue to use my T-Mobile ISP modem. They provided the equipment at no charge to me, the data is fast and totally unlimited (we use over 1 TB monthly ) and the monthly cost is a flat $40 with auto-pay. I love it.

If Elon wants to get serious about his internet option the price has to come way down. I can buy what I'm using for 3 households and then pay for a 4th household for over a year for the cost of one Starlink setup.
In our neck of the woods Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile must be overloaded. My neighbors are always complaining and they've tried em all. They've asked about Starlink a few times but honestly I hope they don't get it, more for me!

It sure varies in download speed. Last night it was in the mid 30's Mbps.

This morning did a speed test and getting 276 Mbps down and 19 ms. latency

Not complaining what a Giant step up from the Years of Hughesnet and sub 50kbps download speeds and .6 second latency. Or the 10Gig a month throttling.
The little Mobley is a great backup and keeps cruising along as well for $23 a month.

Had to bite the bullet and order Starlink on the 12th. We have ATT fixed wireless and as per usual the router is failing (it happens yearly since we got it), we had the tech come and he told us they were no longer allowed to carry replacement parts and that to get another router I would have to call and have one dropped shipped. Well the phone call ended with them telling me the fixed wireless is now "grandfathered" and there are NO replacement parts and will be shutdown in the near future. GEE, Thanks for the heads up! The only option is to upgrade to their newer wireless system that works on 5G. Yeah, right, THERE IS NO 5G available in most of the out laying areas of Kentucky and the few places 5G can be found it is very poor service in my experience so far.

So with the wallet now in intense care, with luck we will have Starlink up in a week or so. I know we will NEVER go back to Exede (basically the same as Huges Net)
